Three stories that explain the three meanings of the word 'solution'.

The first "solution":

Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead, matting his already tangled mop of hair. He leaned forward very carefully and let a single drop of violently pink liquid fall into his beaker. The mix in the beaker hissed and steamed angrily, and he leaned back with a sigh of relief. And disbelief. Was this it? Was this the concoction he had been working on for so long. There was only one way to find out. The scientist grabbed the beaker and he swallowed the precious solution in one gulp. Now all he could do was wait.

The second "solution":

Numbers swam and spun before her eyes. She tried to grab at them, but they danced away, taunting her, laughing out loud. "You will never know our secrets," they seemed to jeer, "We will never let you find out." She stared down at the math worksheet, close to tears. The numbers hated her. They HATED her. Finding a solution to their problems was going to be impossible.

 The final "solution":

"And now that I have captured the Professor, no one can stop me! I will finally succeed in my plot to take over the - boy, what are you doing? Boy? No, no, DON'T TOUCH THAT! NOOOOO!!!"

It was too late. He had already stabbed the big red button.

As long as villains stayed stupid enough to install self-destruct mechanisms, there would always be a way to save the world.
